Aglianico (alli-yawn-nico), is a Southern Italian grape from Campania, Basilicata and some in Puglia. It is particularly celebrated on the Amalfi Coast. Aglianico is the main grape variety in this skilful blend “miscelato” of five wines “cinque.” Blended with Piedi Rosso, Nero D’Avola, Sagrantino, Shiraz. If you are a fan of earth-driven wines, Aglianico is a star – sits nicely alongside Nebbiolo and Sangiovese as one of Italy’s best grape varieties for it’s power and structure. It’s often referred to as the Nebbiolo of the south.

Colour: Purple-Crimson
Bouquet: oak on the nose, dusty earthy aromas, black cherry, dried fig, small red berry and pepper.
Palate: a medium to full bodied wine with a core palate of dark berry fruits of black cherry, blackberry, spiced plum with notes of small red fruits true to nose. The fruit, the fresh acidity and the well-integrated tanins are perfectly balanced. 
Wine-making: hand-picked, lightly crushed, destemmed, wild yeast inoculation, basket pressed, fermented and aged in old French oak barriques for 15 months. 
Alcohol: 14%
